The technological shift from classical industrial robots, which are safely kept away from humans in cages, to robots, which are used in close collaboration with humans, is facing major challenges that need t o be overcome.\n\nThe objective of the workshop is to bring together academ ic scientists, researchers and research scholars to exchange and share thei r experiences and research results on all aspects related to the introducti on of robots into everyday life. The workshop covers a wide range of topics related to human-robot interaction, both physical and cognitive, including theories, methodologies, technologies, empirical and experimental studies. Topics of Interest Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:\n\n 1. Fundamentals of human-friendly robots\n - mechatronic design\n - control methods for safe and adaptive interaction\n - interaction-based robot desi gn\n - telerobotic systems\n - methods for physical and cognitive human-rob ot interaction\n - multimodal human-robot communication\n - human monitorin g and intention recognition\n - cognitive modelling\n - adaptive interfaces \n - cooperative task execution and sliding autonomy\n - learning by demons tration\n - human factors\n - benchmarking and performance analysis\n - soc ial and ethical issues2.
