Student Branches

The IEEE Student Branch at the TU Graz was founded in 1997. It was initiated to improve the cooperation between the different research groups at our university and allow for a closer networking between students, researchers, and lecturers.

Our student branch is dedicated to offer students in the region a mixed program complementing their education. Our program consists of various events including, but not limited to:

social events
workshops
presentations
excursions
company talks
programming competitions
student paper contest

All events are organized by ourselves and we are always looking for helping hands. Organizing such events is fun on one hand, on the other hand you can improve your soft skills. Our Student Branch is also well known for its participation in the IEEE Xtreme Programming Competition. For the last five years our teams always ranked within the top 50 teams and placed in the top three within German speaking countries.

The IEEE Student Branch at the JKU Linz was founded in May 2008. It was initiated to improve the cooperation between the different research groups at our university and allow for a closer networking between students, researchers, and lecturers.

The Student-Branch UMIT TIROL was founded in summer of 2022. Current activities are excursions to companies and tech talks.

The Student Branch of the TU-Wien (Vienna University of Technology) was relaunched in summer 2006. It forms a link between the students of this university and the IEEE. We inform how students can benefit from their IEEE membership and organize social, educational and informative events.
